MAT is generally conducted four times a year and the scores are valid over a period of one year. MAT is conducted in February, May, September & December. Next MAT will be conducted on 06 December 2009.
MAT is an aptitude test containing multiple choice questions. The test contains of five sections, namely Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical and Critical Reasoning and General Awareness. The scores are based only on the first four sections. The scores of the General Awareness section can be used by institutes on their discretion. There are 200 questions divided equally among the five sections. One mark is allotted for every correct answer.
The qualification required for MAT is graduation in any stream from any recognized university while final year students can also appear provisionally. The minimum percentage of marks is not set by AIMA. Different institutes set their limits for minimum percentage of marks in graduation according to their preference.
